The COVIDCert NI app which provides official proof of your vaccination status has now been updated to meet the needs of 11-15 year olds.
This will allow younger people to display their COVID travel certificates on their phones.
Vaccination and recovery travel certificates for this age group are requested by parents and guardians. They are available in pdf format for download and printing, or in paper format delivered by mail, with applications via the NI Direct site.
With the new feature of the COVIDCert NI app, 11-15 year olds now have the ability to view their certificates on their own phone.
This involves downloading the app and simply scanning the certificate obtained by their parent or guardian. It will also help those traveling with groups of young people – such as teachers on school trips – by providing a digital backup of printed certificates.
The app’s new feature also allows young people to display a COVID Recovery Certificate – the official record of a positive PCR test.
To date, 905,613 COVID travel certificates have been issued to NI to support those wishing to travel. Anyone traveling abroad is strongly advised to check in advance the vaccination or COVID test certification requirements for the countries they are visiting. The Health Trusts continue to provide COVID vaccines to young people aged five and over. Check Trust’s websites and social media feeds for more details on their latest clinics.
