KARACHI: Standard Chartered Pakistan Limited (SCBPL) on Monday launched a mobile app to allow people to open their accounts and access other banking services, without going to its branches or using customer service channels.
SCBPL announced the digital banking solution to enhance the customer experience by enabling people to open accounts, complete transactions, search a multitude of services and subscribe to its products “conveniently.”
âOur app is poised to set new benchmarks in financial services innovation, with the primary goal of making banking easy and convenient for everyone,â said Rehan Shaikh, CEO of SCBPL.
The bank launched the mobile app to make banking âdigitalâ as well as to convince unbanked people to sign up and use its banking services with the touch of a finger. Through this initiative, the bank aims to work with the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), local and global service providers and fintech players to innovate and develop selected products for unbanked segments that are often inaccessible. due to lack of infrastructure. and digital platforms.
According to the bank, it developed the app in-house by leveraging global expertise and partnering with local service providers under the digital impetus of the SBP. Standard Chartered is the first bank in Pakistan to partner with NADRA to offer real-time biometric verification for account opening through its mobile app.
